The Huntsville/Madison County Area has 3 public school systems.

The Huntsville City School system services the Huntsville Metro area. It is comprised of 26 elementary schools, 2 magnet schools for elementary and middle students, 10 middle schools, five high schools, the Huntsville Center for Technology, and the New Century Technology Demonstration high School.

Madison city to the west of Huntsville is served by the Madison City School system. The system is comprised of one high school, two middle schools, and five elementary schools.

All other areas in Madison County are served by the Madison County School system. It consists of 23 schools and centers.
